Please, please, please, please do not make the mistake we did and use this company.
The movers were pleasantly surprised with how little we needed to move, and I thought it was a great sign that it was just the things I alone could not move to our new apartment. However, I was wrong. This move ended up being a little over 7 hours.
I am uploading pictures of our exact move so you all are aware and can make informed decisions when looking for moving companies.
Our recent encounter with Trek Movers for a short one-mile move was a complete disappointment. The service provided was far from what we had anticipated, given their stellar reviews on Google.
Despite meticulously filling out the inventory list, the move took an unreasonably long time—4 hours to load and 3 hours to unload. The inefficiency and delays were not just frustrating but also highly inconvenient.
The packing and loading process could have been more efficient. One person did most the packing while the other waited, significantly prolonging the process. It was so slow that I had time to communicate with family about how long it took.
What added insult to injury was the final bill. The initial quote of $537, which we had expected to increase to around $750 with fees and tips, skyrocketed to a staggering $1,441. This was unacceptable to us, especially considering the minimal amount we had to move and the short distance involved.
To their credit, our TV stand was damaged and the team came back a few days later to make whole. That was kind but it was not our issue as we understand things break and the movers were move worried about it than we were. Totally okay. But I did want to give that shoutout.
We were offered a refund of $250, or basically 1.5hrs. We were told that we should have admonished the workers about how slow the moving process was, and they would have called their supervisor for support. I pushed back that we are the customers; it’s not our job to tell the movers how to do theirs or for them to continue billing us while waiting for supervisor support.
Again, do not use Trek. We have moved three times and have never had this experience, but Trek tells us that every move is different.
Highly recommend! The Trek Movers team was fast, efficient, respectful, polite, and they did a great job navigating our furniture down/up stairways and narrow hallways. A team of 3 people got us moved in faster than the expected time and ended up saving us money even with a really good tip!
The team never doddle nor did I feel like I needed to supervise them; I was around for when they had questions. Otherwise I was able to stand aside and watch them do their magic. No furniture or walls were damaged in the process and we have very narrow hallways and many tight corners at both the old a new addresses.
So impressive to see how diligently and intelligently they operate. Would happily work with them again.
Trek Movers did an awesome job moving me from Playa Vista to Santa Monica. They were on time and very efficient, I highly recommend Andy and his team.
We used Trek out of San Jose to move my brother’s 1 bedroom apartment furniture from a storage unit to an assisted living facility. The initial conversation with Arthur was professional and he clearly stated the process as well as the cost of the move. The day of the move, Alex and Shax arrived on time and Alex reviewed the items to be moved, confirming the agreement made with Arthur. Both gentlemen were professional and very efficient. The loading was done quickly, yet carefully. The entire process took the expected amount of time and all items arrived in perfect condition. Alex and Shax made the entire process smooth and less stressful which was greatly appreciated. Would definitely use Trek movers again and highly recommend them to anyone.
I’ve written maybe 3 Google reviews ever, but I have to share because l chose Trek due to stellar reviews and my experience was…. not that. The guys who packed up our house were polite but sloppy, asked over and over “if this is coming” —yes, we’re moving out of the house, everything is coming— and took probably 30% longer than appropriate, likely due to the frequent smoking breaks that also dragged odors into my home.
Fine, our stuff got to the final destination safe and sound, right? Well, these men unpacking, while also kind, seemed rushed and tried to cut corners at every turn. They tried to leave several times before finding key items like the screws to our bed frame and our dresser legs. They suggested we order them from the manufacturer because we couldn’t find them. They repeatedly said their boss told them they need to go now, sorry, and I did have to push and say no, the job is not done, please keep looking. They eventually found the screws and finished the job. Still, the rest of the unpacking was rushed and sloppily done.
I am really disappointed and unfortunately would not suggest hiring this company. Two stars because nothing broke and timeline was accurate.
