Horrific. Chaotic. Badly packed. Complete lack of respect for my belongings. Overpriced.
For my move, I had items marked for storage and items marked for the new house. Many items that were supposed to go to the apartment went to storage. Everything was staged, marked, and labeled, and the moving team told me it was very well organized when they arrived. I did multiple walk throughs, and I stayed at the house for the pack and the loading to answer questions.
On the unloading, some 20 different items and boxes went to storage that were marked for the apartment.(Air conditioners, chairs, bikes, client files for my business, rugs, shelving units, etc.) An entire kitchen cabinet back at the house was left unpacked. I was charged for the extra three hours it took for the movers to correct some of those problems.
My bedroom was packed without packing paper. Items were broken, clothes that had been neatly hanging in my closet were tossed into boxes, including my daughters’ christening gown. Drawers were upended into boxes with fragile items and books thrown in together. My jewelry box was tossed into a laundry hamper, upside down, with all the jewelry still inside.
Far worse: the items I had identified to the movers as most precious to me were missing. They included family photos, the American flag that covered my grandmother’s casket, among other things.
I called immediately. I sent multiple texts and emails. I was ignored. The head of the company finally called me three days later.
He was hostile, rude, disinterested in anything I had to say, he lied, and he accused me of lying. (“The lamp was probably broken already, we don’t break things.”) He told me the move was chaos because I wasn’t there (I was) and then he said I was there but kept changing my mind about where things should go (a lie).
When I asked what I should do about the missing items — especially the ones from my bed room — he told me to “go to storage and find them” myself. He has no idea where the items are in the storage unit. He was unapologetic, accusatory, aggressive, and completely disinterested in anything I had to say.
In order to find the missing items, I will need to hire a moving company to empty the storage unit entirely, find the items, and move them to the apartment.
The estimate for the move was $6,700. At the end of the day they charged the credit card $9.124. When I asked for a refund the owner said, “You didn’t even pay for this it was on your friend’s credit card, why would I give you money?”
I regret hiring this company more than I have ever regretted hiring any service.
The Town to Town Movers team was excellent to work with from start to finish. The team was prompt and pleasant in answering questions prior to the move, and the moving team was the best I’ve ever experienced—friendly, efficient, and handled things with care. They went above and beyond to make the move smooth and stress-free. This was our second time using Town to Town, and once again, we were thrilled with their service. They truly have a fantastic team!
Town-to-Town movers moved us a week ago from Worcester to Silver Spring, and they were simply wonderful. The crew wrapped our kitchen ware quickly and efficiently. All our belongings were handled with care, and every member of the crew was friendly and professional. Moving is inherently stressful, but these guys made it less so. I recommend them very, very highly.

Moving can be stressful, overwhelming, and exhausting, and I encountered several issues with my closing. But from start to finish, the Town to Town team was incredible to work with. Mindee, my main point of contact, was not only pleasant and understanding of my chaotic situation but also incredibly responsive throughout the entire process. Meanwhile, Mike and his team worked tirelessly to ensure my belongings were handled with care and moved promptly.
I can’t say enough good things about this team. They went above and beyond, even returning to the house to help out when needed. They hustled, remained polite, and communicated every step of the way.
What truly set Town to Town Movers apart from the other companies I researched was their 30+ years of being family-owned, their quick response to my inquiry, and their unwavering flexibility and communication. They truly earned those five stars, and I wholeheartedly recommend anyone planning a move to reach out to them!
I have used Town to Town Movers many times now and can not recommend them enough. They are always on time and prepared to work. The crews have always been courteous and professional. They take pride in their work and it shows! Although I use them for evictions, I would use them to move my own family without any hesitation. If you need a moving company, this is the one to use!
