Part 2
Continuing review from David Claxton. Ran out of room
After the driver left, the kitchen was not finished being packed. We had no walk through, so if we did we would had known. Not to mention it was 11pm at night, and we did indeed leave because of having to meet the crew in MS. How we found out we were missing items was when we finally moved into our new home and unpacked. Part of the kitchen was missing. We called our buyer of our old house, and she confirmed indeed they left everything we mentioned to her. She has set everything aside. Some of these items are family heirlooms. We contacted Central Transport, and talked with Alta. Whatever her name is. She said there was nothing they could do. She then proceeded to give customer cares number to see what could be done. Make a long story short UNITED a is denying to help at all. Nothing. We’ve saved all emails, and even texts with the new owner in regard to this matter. This Alta person has defamed our character, and claims the driver did a walk though. NO it never happend. Between the days chaos and how late this horrible crew went into the night, he just LEFT!
We have other missing items, damaged items, and of course the un missing items at our old house they have said blatantly they will not get, nor help us. We’ve decided to file a claim, and now file a lawsuit for the fiasco with our dog asking for reimbursement of the expenses we incurred in order to head all the way back to Texas to bring our sweet loved dog home. We also will be asking for stress, and loss of wages. We as a customer should not be penalized becuase the crew THEY a hired did not do the job right. They were unprofessional, unorganized, not focused, and honestly should not be doing this job. As for the local office and Alta, you do not lie to get out of accountability for your terminals mishaps and hiring a crew that lacks knowledge or the professionals skills needed to complete and do a task with such responsibility. How dare you accuse of us of having a walk though when it never happened. Your office is well aware of all the details of which took place that day in Groesbeck TX with your crew, your estimator, the dog, and leaving our house over 12 hours later. Karma is a thing. Ya know? Your crew is responsible for all this, and they are the ones that should be held accountable.
Pls do not use this company, and stay away from Appleton movers as well in San Antonio. The whole move was a fiasco from start to u til now. Horrible horrible companies, and this includes United for now helping as well. You have not heard the last of this Central.
Update. The response from the owner is very ill/misinformation. We have contacted CT after the move, and even Appleton. They sent us a claim form VIA email. Unfortunately, these are not lost or damaged items we are requesting, it the items they INDEED left at our old home. As mentioned some of the items are family heirlooms. They are also very aware of the dog situation. We have since filed a complaint with the BBB. It is now under mediation, and trying for a resolution with United. We have uploaded pictures of the left items, the confirmation from the new owner of items left, contracts, invoice, emails of communication about claim forms, and etc. we paid for our kitchen to be packed. That was extra money. They did not complete the contract, as they failed to finish packing the kitchen. We did not get the service we paid for.
I originally booked my cross country move with a different company, but after a friend had a bad experience with that company, I called United to switch. I was still very nervous about the process but it could not have gone smoother or been a better experience. From the initial walk through, to my point of contact throughout the process and the crew- everyone was amazing to work with. I will not book with another company for any other move!!
Do not under any circumstances use central transportation. We had the most horrible experience. We moved from TX to MS. They contracted our move out to Appleton Movers out of San Antonio. The crew showed up late. Came with a crew of 2, plus our estimator showed up. We had a 2200sqft home, a lot to load up. We did 95% of the packing of our home. They were left with just the kitchen. Working with such a minimal crew and so much to move, it became chaotic and extremely unorganized. A few hours in there was a war between the estimator and the driver. The driver saying the weight and job was under estimated. The driver has a right to protest the job, and if there is no resolve the crew can walk off the job. Well, the driver did question it, and United found favor in the drivers claim. At that point causing more confusion and chaos to the situation, the estimator walked off the job, leaving less hands to help. The estimator was apparently punished for not estimating the job properly. He would not get paid for the job. So, he left.
A few ours later the inventory girl showed up. She didn’t help much. Mostly just stood around. At some point she did inventory, but did a poor job. Please note we documented this whole experience from beginning to end with photos, videos and etc. even when they unloaded at our rental in MS.
These so-called professionals took 12 hours to load. At one point stopping to unload the truck to try to repack it to make everything fit. This is when all heck broke loose. The one guy in the house left to finish the kitchen abandoned post, so did the inventory worker. All outside with a half acre mess with our whole house out on our property trying to fit our things. Next, they let our dog out. Yep…. We let them know it was time for a potty break for our dogs. We had 3 gates blocking the backside of the property with 2 feet hog wire into the custom fencing in order to protect our dogs and to prevent predators from coming in. As the crew went out the back and through the shop, they left the gate and shop door open. Even knowing the dogs were out. We were inside the house vacuuming. The neighbor called us to tell us our Chinese Crested was loose. Not once, not once did the driver or his crew alert us to this. Three of them out by the truck in an open 2 acre property, and you know they had to of seen the dog. For-most the crew you would think would had kept the gates shut as coming and going even if it was for 10 min. Nope…… nothing….
The move was interrupted with a dog search. We were having to leave in order to get to our destination in MS for when this ridiculous unprofessional crew arrives with our things. Hours went by with neighbors helping with the search. Searching woodlands, acres of land and farm land. Our dog could not be found. The search went on into the dark. The movers just packed the truck, and left. The driver NEVER did a walk though. He was concerned with leaving, getting rest, and getting to MS on schedule. We were left with the inventory girl. I continued looking for the dog, and my wife went into the dining room with inventory girl to sign the inventory paperwork. Then said girl left.
With lack of sleep, and having to drive over 500 miles to our destination we had no choice but to leave in order to arrive for our unloading in MS. The neighbors said they would continue the search. Best neighbors ever. They did continue the search. 5 days later, and in MS we recieved a call that they found our dog 5 miles away. One of neighbors went and picked him up, and kept him. Until something could be worked out to get him home. The movers did nothing about it. Just a simple I’m sorry. We had to turn around and drive back to TX to get our dog. The moving company took no accountability for our stress, anxiety and the extra financial burdening of this situation caused by this crew they hired to move us. To this day, United has not compensated the situation.
Next, since there was no walk through, and the driver abandoned ship because of the long 12 day
This company did a great job with our Move from Utah to Waco. Very professional. Their office communicated extremely well with us leading up to the move. Did a great job contracting out services. The movers were some of the best we have ever had. Worked extremely hard, Got the whole house packed up in half a day. They also had fun doing. We didn’t have to worry about anything with this crew. The turnaround time was less than 5 days from Utah to Waco, and they had everything unpacked in less than 3 hours. Nothing was lost or broken, and the owner of the company even came out to check up and make sure everything was going smooth. We will defiantly use this company again on our next move.
These guys are the best! Unmatched customer service. My team, led by Mr. Jose, was prompt and carried themselves with the utmost professionalism and care for my – the customer – items.
The level of attention to detail and accountability for all moved items was outstanding.
I greatly recommend and commend them for their service!
