    ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)

We had a terrible experience with this company. Their sales team is totally disconnected from their actual moving crew, and they lied to us to get the sale. We were told that they disassembled and reassembled furniture and that the move would take 4 hours total (1,917 square foot house). I asked them to up the quote to 6 hours because we had a daybed that I thought would take much longer to take apart and rebuild. Jimmy was so reassuring on the phone and told me not to worry and that his guys did this all the time. I felt so comfortable after the call that I booked right away.

The crew showed up on time and was super polite, but it seemed like they had honestly never done this before. One of the crew tried to carry my Peloton bike down the stair alone and hit it off the wall at the top and bottom of the stairs, denting the wall. The crew came to tell me that they did not take apart complicated furniture and basically wanted to leave the daybed, my metal king bed frame and our baby crib at the house. I told them I was reassured on the phone that they provided this service, and they had to move them. They had a manager (Shane) call me and he said they do not provide this service but as a favor they would take the furniture apart so it could be moved but that they would not put it back together. At this point, I needed to be out of the house the next day as we had sold it, so we were basically trapped and I said ok. Shane also told me that he was coming to the new house to help the crew out since they were running behind.

The crew took apart the king bed frame and daybed and proceeded to hand me 1 zip lock bag of screws and parts for both pieces of furniture. So now not only did we have to rebuild the furniture, but we had to figure out which screws went to which bed.

I was grateful they sent Shane out, as he was the only one that knew what he was doing. He wrapped our stair railing and directed the crew on how to carry heavy things, like the Peloton bike. Without Shane, the crew would have severely damaged our walls, the stair railing and they would have easily taken 12+ hours. Shane basically told us that that the sales guys have no idea what they are talking about and say anything to make a sale when I asked him about the totally inaccurate quote and the fact that I was told they disassembled and reassembled furniture.

I sent an email after and had multiple phone calls with Cristal where she basically blamed me for having more boxes than the quote and said that they don’t rebuild Ikea furniture because “Ikea has on their website that they furniture is meant to be built once and to not be taken apart” which is a total lie. Cristal said they completed the job and that they would have moved all the boxes to their proper place had we asked them to. I told her that I had told the guys to put all labeled boxes in the corresponding room and that all unlabeled boxes can stay in the garage. I also told her they had left both our TVs in the garage and that they had placed the shelving and all boxes/totes all over the place so you couldn’t even walk. There was no rhyme or reason they basically just thew it all in there. Sure, I could have called them back immediately but at that point, I had already spent $500 more than the 6 hour quote and had gone 3.5 hours over and we were honestly exhausted.

I spoke with multiple family members, friends and colleagues about our experience to see if my expectations were unrealistic and they were all totally shocked at our experience and said we deserved a full refund. We received absolutely nothing from this company, not even an apology. I would never in a million years recommend them to anyone. Do yourself a favor and hire a moving company that has a flat rate.

Jay, James and Savannah were the best. Got to the house on time, worked fast, safe and carefully. Arrived at new house in a timely manor and were unloaded in no time. Put furniture where we wanted it and even moved a few pieces several times for us. Overall great experience and highly recommend 1776 Moving and Storage, Inc.

David, Willy, and Kendrick worked so hard from start to finish. They didn’t stop for a break and anytime I asked them to do something, they happily helped without hesitation.

We had a lot of heavy furniture, including Restoration Hardware pieces and a baby grand piano, and they handled everything so carefully. They also had to move everything into a two-story house, including our washer and dryer upstairs, and they did it like pros. My husband and I were amazed.

They showed up on time, worked efficiently, and somehow finished under the estimated time. I can’t say enough good things about these guys. If you’re looking for movers who are hardworking, professional, and genuinely great to work with, David, Willy, and Kendrick are the team you want!

P.S. Make sure you give your team a good tip!
