It’s painful to leave a negative review for a young company, but my experience with Helping Hands was so awful that I must. Because I live far away and couldn’t get there due to winter storms, I hired Brandon to fully pack, load and unpack my 81 year old Mom’s little one bedroom apartment with very little stuff, moving from one senior citizen’s complex to another. Brandon offered me an all inclusive flat rate for the move, which was supposed to include three movers. I told Brandon that my Mom has rheumatoid arthritis, kidney disease, and would be very nervous, and probably wouldn’t sleep the night before, so speed was imperative. Brandon showed up with just ONE other guy, who had no experience moving. I don’t think that Brandon has ever done packing before, because it took these two guys over three hours just to pack up her tiny kitchen, SIX hours to pack up the rest. I kept calling and urging them to please hurry up. They finally got to the new place, and Brandon called me to tell me they were all wrapped and finished. He said that he was charging me an extra $160 for supplies. Excuse me? I said no and he backed off. I paid for the move and gave a good tip. Later that night, much to my horror, my Mom admitted that they HAD NOT unpacked her boxes! They left the bedroom in a shambles, with furniture in all the wrong places, a steel bed frame in the middle of the bedroom floor, heavy boxes on kitchen counters, etc that my Mom had no way of moving. The new guy packed up her bedroom stuff, and he literally just tossed her belongings haphazardly in boxes, and then dumped her stuff in the bedroom. So Brandon not only charged me the full price, tried to add a significant amount for supplies, and happily took a generous tip, knowing they had not finished the move, and not telling me, the person paying for it.. I tried to talk to him about this, and he didn’t respond to my messages. To be fair, he did call my Mom four days after the move and offered to finish the job. At that point, she had opened some of the boxes and seen how her stuff was just thrown in, and was so upset that she did not want to deal with him again. To quote my Mom, “He hired a kid to help who just dumped everything at the end, but you paid top dollar for professionals. He ignored you and called me because he thought he could con the old lady.” She is still so upset about how horrible the experience was. Luckily, the maintenance guys at the new place helped my mom move a few large items, but she also unpacked a lot of her stuff, which caused her a lot of pain. Disgraceful situation.

We hired the Helping Hands Movers to move my Mom from a 2 bedroom apartment and I must say Brandon and his crew of (2) did an amazing job, honestly beyond amazing. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a moving crew. One full truckload and the unloading of the truck was flawless. They made sure to lay down runners to not damage the rugs throughout the new apartment due to the rain. They covered everything to keep it from getting wet. Awesome company…You need movers? Brandon at helping hands movers saved the day. My daughter wanted to change her bedroom and Brandon came to make the move seamless. He did a great job disassembling and reassembling the beds and was fast and friendly. He stepped up to the plate for this last minute project. I would recommend helping hands movers . The are flexible, affordable and friendly!
